Menstrual pain (1 ^ parte)

The thing that amazes me most of menstrual pain, not a problem when symptom severity, and living with it. Many women describe specific signs and symptoms but without taking into account the possibility of addressing a problem and annoying puntulamente applicant or did so but with little success. I'd like in a few lines to explain the general causes that cause this syndrome and suggest some practical advice it based solely on the literature, so far signed in medicine, traditional Chinese diet.

WHAT IS IT?
During the menstrual period may experience painful cramps of uterine origin. The technical term is dysmenorrhoea, which can be classified into primary (when the pain is not motivated by an organic disease) and secondary (if discomfort is painful due to a specific disease, such as endometriosis or ovarian cysts). Primary dysmenorrhea is a chronic relapsing condition that affects many young women, often improves in the third decade and decreases after childbirth. The pain covers a period ranging from 8 to 72 hours, occurs just before the onset of flow, and shows its maximum intensity during the first day of menstruation. S'associano breast tenderness (especially the sides), bloating, diarrhea, headache and various neurological symptoms, the difficulty of concentration within cambiamneti of humor (the latter symptom boys know him very well ...)
The main reason that triggers an intense and important period pain is caused endometriosis, a benign but still not diagnosed in its early stages: it is characterized by "islands" of endometrium (the tissue that cover the inner surface of the uterus) in abnormal locations, such as the ovaries, the fallopian tube and the intestine.
Certainly the psychological factors may affect duration and intensity of symptoms but the cause of pain reside (literature) in a poor oxygenation of the uterus. The endometrium in fact produce significant quantities of prostaglandins, hormonal substances that increase from 30 to 40 times during menstruation, acting both locally and on the organism in its entirety. It stimulates the muscle fibers, causing contractions and spasms of the uterine wall but also a reduction of the caliber of blood vessels, a phenomenon which ultimately reduce oxygen supply to the uterine muscle.

WHAT TO DO?
Surely the first and main recommendation is to go to a surgeon specialized in gynecology and to further identify the causes.
By combining conventional medicine, then you can approach to complementary and integrative methods, after getting the diagnosis and the "green light" of your gynecologist / a.

Whichever approach is fontamentale importance to understand the physiology and the quality of your breath.
The breath plays a central role in dysmenorrhea, and now I will explain why.
The diaphragm (muscle "prince" of breathing) is dome-shaped, divides the chest from the abdomen, his movement will not produce different physiological effects in vascular (remembering previously highlighted the importance of oxygenation), lymphatic psychological, neurological and postural unleashing a vicious cycle of symptoms difficult to break. The diaphragm, in the key psycho-somatic is the muscle of the emotions, so all that happens in our emotional life is reflected positively or negatively on the breath. Emotions such as anger, fear, sadness, joy, etc.. if not understood and channeled tend to affect the quality of our breathing. A breath slow, deep and continuous stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system making us relax and increases the production of those substances (opiates such biological) that reduce pain.
Start taking breath itself is the first step in therapy itself. If you do not know where and how to get started, here are some of the disciplines / therapies that can help us:
autogenic training, diaphragmatic rehabilitation in physiotherapy, shiatsu, osteopathy, Feldenkrais, yoga, pilates, bioenergetic analysis, qi gong, rolfing, singing or simply aerobic exercise such as swimming or race. It would also be important that the operator you are referring to has "worked" upon himself to do so.
The wave produced by the respiratory movement thoracic / abdominal has a mechanical effect on the viscera are mobilized and energized in their function. Poor digestion, constipation or diarrhea, back pain, slight swelling of the limbs, chronic fatigue, cold extremities and abdomen are signs of a respiratory quality very low.

In traditional Chinese medicine, breathing is the main engine to turn our inner energy called Qi. The
dysmenorrhea is associated mainly to a failure of the circulation of the Xue (blood) and Qi (energy) caused by psychological factors, diet or climate.
Without getting too in the tencnica, acupuncture, Tuina or Shiatsu if done by competent therapists can provide enormous relief to gynecological problems such as dysmenorrhea, using specific points through their manipulation can achieve good results.
In support of this, in the skeptics, there is a huge clinical and scientific literature on the search engine PubMed.

in the next post I will continue talking about the main dietary advice and herbal remedies ...
