L ' effectiveness of Shiatsu in the treatment of neck pain and back pain has already been highlighted in previous studies took place in 2001 and 2003.
In 2007, 25 pieces were treated with a diagnosis of cervical pain and / or back pain, investigating issues relating to the abdomen and the role it plays in relation to the whole body during treatment to rebalance Diagnostic Areas of the abdomen ( ADA), both from the standpoint of traditional Chinese medicine that Western institutional medicine, developing the following subjects: the anatomic and physiological, with particular attention to the autonomic nervous system, the importance of emotional states, and their effects, which affect the organism and treatment of the abdomen used by our school, tracing the origins and characteristics.
The goal that put this study is to highlight and examine, using rating scales and validated in the literature (VAS, NDI and OLBP), a statistically significant difference (p value <0,05), tra gli indici ricavati all’inizio dei trattamenti e quelli finali, in un gruppo di 25 pazienti affetti da cervicalgia e/o lombalgia trattati con l’Aiki Shiatsu e, per i casi che hanno riportato, a livello energetico, una Carenza di Yin del Rene, quali risultati si possono ottenere effettuando 5 sedute aggiuntive, somministrando esclusivamente il trattamento delle ADA e dei Meridiani Yin degli arti inferiori.

are allowed to treat patients aged between 18 and 75 years, diagnosed with cervical pain and / or acute or chronic low back pain. Each patient underwent 10 sessions of treatment. Patients diagnosed with energy deficiency of Kidney Yin (6 pcs) received five additional sessions. All patients were assessed before and after the treatment cycle.
From energy audits are 4 groups of patients emerged:
OF KIDNEY YIN DEFICIENCY (12 patients: 6 with neck pain and back pain with 6 - 48%)
OF KIDNEY QI DEFICIENCY (5 patients: 2 with neck pain and 3 with low back pain - 20%)
STASIS OF LIVER QI (5 patients: 3 with 2 with neck pain and back pain - 20%)
DEFICIENCY OF QI AND BLOOD (3 patients with neck pain - 12%)
E 'was evident that patients with deficiency of Kidney Yin obtained a further improvement in the 5 undergoing additional treatment by rebalancing the ADA.
At the conclusion of our work we have integrated the results obtained in our study with data derived from previous ones (2001 and Cervical Lumbago 2003).
treated patients in total were 94 and were grouped according to the syndromes identified by the energy audit, namely: Kidney Yin Deficiency, Kidney Qi deficiency, Qi and Blood deficiency, deficiency of Kidney Qi and Spleen, Stasi Qi and Blood, Liver Qi stasis, deficiency of Spleen Qi and retention of damp cold.
The best results were obtained from patients characterized deficiency of Kidney Qi, deficiency of Qi and Spleen and Kidney Qi and Blood stasis.
In patients who have completed their sessions and assessments, we verified that the treatment was effective in reducing pain and disability.
This statement is confirmed by the outcome of data analysis, which shows a statistically significant change (p. < 0,01).

The study was carried out in collaboration with Regione Lombardia at the AO Luigi Sacco, Milan in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
